After graduating from the Kalinin Polytechnic Institute in 1972, he worked as the head of the automated control system automation laboratory at the Nelidovsky Plastics Plant (Kalinin region), later as a senior researcher at the Automobile Industry Research Institute in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod).
In the period 1991-2002, he led a number of projects in the field of intellectualization of production management. G. B. Bronfeld's research and inventive activity was embodied in 18 inventions, he was awarded the "Inventor of the USSR" badge and the VDNH medal.< p>Since 2004, Associate Professor of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. High professionalism, creative approach and a sincere desire to transfer extensive knowledge distinguished the pedagogical activity and communication with the students of Gennady Borisovich.
G. B. Bronfeld is the author of more than 140 publications in the field of control automation and intelligent technologies. Among his scientific results, it should be noted the method of global optimization-the "inflatable ball" method, as well as a patented method of direct superimposition of knowledge in intelligent systems, based on an original approach to processing queries and forming answers in natural language and implemented in a prototype of an intelligent e-book named by Gennady Borisovich "elinga". These results formed the basis of the dissertation prepared by him for the degree of Doctor of Sciences. Being an enthusiastic researcher and a member of the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence, G. B. Bronfeld took an active part in numerous conferences and events held under its auspices.
